Minimalist Fitness: Week 2 Progress
Good day everyone! It’s now been over 2 weeks since my hernia repair and things are still going well. The only issue I’ve really had regarding recovery is some bleeding so I’ve had to stay bandaged up longer than I would like. Other than that everything pretty much feels normal, but I have still maintained the fitness protocol I described in my last post: no weights and a low calorie diet while tracking step count to reduce body fat. As I write today it’s actually been closer to 2 weeks than 1 week since my last update; however, you’ll be able to see from the numbers that not a whole lot has change and the progress is steady. So without further ado let’s get into the details.
So far I’ve lost an average of about 4lbs per week. I began my cut with a week one high body weight of 205.2lbs. After week two my body weight was down from a high of 199.0lbs to a low of 194.5lbs. As of today (2 days shy of the 3-week mark) I have logged a new low body weight of 189.8lbs. Not too bad.
Here are the basic details for my regimen over week 2 of my cut expressed in averages:
1) Average daily calories during week 2- 1,800 calories
2) Average daily step count during week 2- 9,737 steps
You’ll notice that both my average calorie intake and step count were reduced. This was not particularly planned. I hit my numbers based on a target range rather than being rigid. For me that target is to land over 7000 steps in a day and to keep calories no higher than 2200-2400 calories but the lower the better for my purposes. I also want to stress that I do not always hit these targets and that’s okay! The goal is to be mostly right most of the time; not to be perfect. However it can’t be ignored that what gets measured gets managed so , once again, KNOW YOUR NUMBERS. You have to know where you stand so that you can set appropriate targets and measure your progress. If you would like guidelines for making sure you stay on track just click “know your numbers”, and we can make sure you have the correct setup in place for your goals and circumstances.
So far progress has honestly gone better than I predicted and I still have a little over 3 weeks to go before I get back into the gym and my normal training regimen.
